Artist Profile

Born and bred in Leicester, he started his music career at the tender age of 7 playing Tabla and Naal at Navrati Festivals with his Father. Having a passion for music he took up the Trumpet at 8 and the Violin at 9 through his Primary School.

As he grew older he started to get more into the urban scene listening to local pirate radio stations to catch the latest Music. One of his mates at the time and local radio presenter invited Kerfew to his show to answer calls, he tagged along and one day was given the opportunity to cover a show for an absent DJ, he was offered the graveyard show but eventually worked his way up to hosting the Prime time Weekend Shows.

After spinning the wheels around various clubs around the UK, Kerfew became a father, got a job and prioritised his life to a family one. After 5 years out of the music scene personal circumstances brought Kerfew back to the doorstep of Music, but this time he started to focus his efforts on rapping and producing.

Alongside childhood friend and fellow rapper Maze, MIC (Mother India’s Children) was formed. Kerfew’s

younger brother is UK producer Hooliyo and June 25th is his brother in-law so beats wise M.I.C were self contained and were enable to create their own music sound. Since the 1st album from MIC in 2005, MIC and Kerfew have worked with many other rappers, singers and producers and are making some ground breaking songs.

Fast forward a few years and Kerfew has had a high street release, 3 mixtapes, numerous national radio plays, performances alongside some of the biggest acts around and even started his own Youth Project called Mad (Make a difference) Music. Its been a busy time for the musical entrepreneur!!

MI Music is co-owned by Kerfew and is a record label that promotes other acts as well as their own roster.
